I decided to read this, finally, after all the hype. I was a bit wary of it simply because of the title, I must confess. Sounds like a Clancy gem in whcih Jack Ryan kills somes evil Commies who want to burn the Mona Lisa as fuel for a nuclear tank or something. But after I'd decided to give it a go, I found it to be quite a nice little page-turner.
And also, I actually got quite interested in his painting theories and Grail conspiracy stuff. The claim at the front that every fact in it is historically true led me to actually believe it was true.
So after I'd read it I did a little research (I say that, all I did was google Da Vinci Code Dan Brown) and got hit by all the Catholic sites fuming at him and showing what crap he'd spouted.
Shame, really. I quite liked it. Er, that's all.
