So I should be getting some sort of musical device for when I go to Uni so I don't have to lug all my CDs up to London, and my brother got an iPod recently for exactly this purpose. I was just wondering if it is actually possible to use the iPod as a sort of dictaphone thing to record your voice (and if so does it require the puchase of additional hardware...?)

Cheers people.

You'd need the belkin voice recorder http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000TNWU6/104-0048568-6932744?v=glance

Can get it from the apple online store, amazon, everything ipod (www.everythingipod.co.uk) and a few other places.

Nope, actually it's cause I have a punk website and am now writing for a paper-based zine, and when I go to London I am planning to get my rear-end down to loadsa gigs and hopefully conduct some interviews for said website and zine.

My mum thought I wanted it for lectures too though, but I realised it would be pointless. I never looked back at the notes I took at school so... :D

Yes it appears you can, you would need an add on.

I assume you want to record lectures with it? If so i would say there isnt much point really, in 2 years ive only seen 1 person record a lecture.
