All flash and no substance. I'm sure you've heard the term before. I know I have, and usually in regards to a movie where I felt it didn't apply. But even though I really did enjoy Charlie's Angels, I felt that the criticism could rightfully be applied. The story in Charlie's Angels is nothing to shout about. Even though I can't go into depth without spoiling one of the plot twists, I have to say that the twists aren't all that great. Really, they're an excuse for the two aspects upon which the movie will focus: sex appeal and action. The sex appeal comes in right away, and you can sum it up with the name of one actress: Cameron Diaz. She just looks fantastic, throughout the movie. Whether she's wearing swimming suits or stretchy suits, she's looking good and there's lots of movement on-screen. The other 'angels' also look great. So you won't find yourself tempted to look away for even a moment, providing you're into seeing scantily clad, attractive women. Then there's action. If you enjoyed some of the cool tricks with the camera in The Matrix, prepare yourself for more of that right here. Some of it really just goes nowhere, but at least it looks great. In fact, this whole movie is about looking great, from camera angels, to outfits, to scenery. Oh, and the music is really fantastic, too. Like I said, there's a lot of flash, but almost no substance. Some serious questions are left unanswered by the time you get to the end of the film. I won't go into those gaps, but trust me when I say they're there. The final verdict, then? Buy this movie. If you're filled with testosterone, you'll find plenty to like. It's pretty hard, for example, to tire of Cameron Diaz dancing around the club. If, however, you're looking for a seriously deep plot, watch The Matrix

Yerr the Matrix is pants and I love SCi Fi! It starts off pretty deep but then the movie producers realised that it appeals to a brighter level of audience and so went completely off the plot and just brought irrelevant guns and special effects to wow the lowest denominator into thinking its good. If you want deep watch Blade Runner, if you want gun action watch Hard Boiled, but the Matrix does niether at a high level although it clearly wants to and makes weak people think it does!

"Oh man black leather!"+"Oh man walking on walls" = a poor version of Batman meet Spiderman! HA! HA!

Michael he's right your wrong. Face it not everyone shares your view of the Matrix. Face it that there are plenty of people who would agree it has a good storyline and is a good film. You are probably one of those people not into sci fi films - this was as sci fi as you get. If you prefer romance films, drama films - FINE. But you must accept that we all have different feelings towards different films rather than critisise. People have the right for these opinions.
