Woke up this morning at 4.30 to get ready for work. Had a wash and then had a drink. I always go to work on my bike which is in the shed. To get to the shed I have to go through a big dark gully.

Anyways, went through the gully and through the gate to get my bike. As I went to come back I had a cold shiver run down my back as a few sticks or twigs starting cracking as though somebody in the gully tredding on them.

I waited about 20 seconds wondering what to do. I opened the gate ready for anybody who was there, and there was nobody to be seen.

I set out on my bike ready for a 10-15 minute ride from my house to work. I went round the big island and onto a big long road with nothing but factories. As I was turning the last corner the was a big smash. Turned the corner only to find a taxi in some bushes and a van smashed up on the opposite side just outside my work.

Sped up and got to the crash where my mate was. The one in the van was okay and got out with a bit of blood on his head. Opened the taxi door and froze as the bloke was just lying on the steering wheel not moving. He was slightly unconsciece (SP). Ambulance come after about 15-20 minutes and took them away.

If that noise in the gully didn't happen, it could of easily been me. But thank God it wasn't.

Had to talk to him to keep him awake, and he wasn't speaking properly either.

Anyways, yesterday was one lucky day after winning £270 on the football last night.

Just hope it continues tomorrow with my Kombi test.

It sounds like you did have a near miss but glad you're okay.

I know you can be barely conscious (welcome to my world) but can someone actually be slightly unconscious?

not had any near death experiances. Though ages ago my brother was jumping around in his room and i stopped, looked into his room, signed and walked into my room (rooms are next to each other) and as i walked in this massive shelving unit toppled over and crashed onto the floor. was a big floor to ceiling job with all sorts of crap on it (had some glass up top) if id walked ina bout 10 seconds earlier would have hit me :\

Goto admit that is a bit scary. Mabey it was a guardian angel or something? made noise to stop you going out when you would have and dieing. :P
