From first hand experiance i would say it is not worth getting as it is terrible!
I rented this game out and I thought it was pretty good. It feels a lot more 'realistic' than some of the other rally games out at the moment, so if you want a more arcadey rally game, perhaps look elsewhere.
It's probably not worth it if you've got a previous incarnation of Colin McRae Rally as, although the handling has changed a bit, the gameplay hasn't really changed that much but I didn't feel there was much wrong with it to begin with.
Obviously, it's not perfect but I think it's one of the best rally games out.

I played the demo and nearly died of boredom, so I turned it off.
