A Lancaster just circled right round our area.
An awesome thing. He kept going down, up and around. Bit odd when the wheels came down - I began to think he was coming down, but he then went off towards Duxford. Never seen one so low.
Totally brilliant though. That plane is classy - even though it is an oldy.

Just found out today in the local paper that it was a tribute to a local RAF Pilot who fought in the Second World War, he died recently.

I remember when some military planes flew a few months ago into London for some procession. My brothers were on study leave at home and saw them go directly over the house and I was at school in French a few miles away and saw it. It was really funny finding out we'd seen the same set of planes.
Not the same one that flew over my house :P but [URL]http://8w.forix.com/lancaster.jpg[/URL] and you get the idea..
I presume it was going to the Duxford war museum, which we live near to, as it was heading towards that direction. There are always air shows there. No idea why it was circling our house though.
And I wish I had dreams like that. :-)

What the hell was a Lancaster doing over your house?
In completely unrelated news, I dreamt an Apache Gunship was shot down over a field near my house. The pilot ejected (I'm pretty sure they don't have ejector seats, but it was my dream) and made his way to my house, where he asked to use the phone. He said he had an hour to kill so we had a few beers and played Black Arrow for a bit.
