Now what is exactly the thing at the moment when all these committees are trying to gain American interest into their sports/events? Yes i know if they can crack the American market it means lots and lots of dollars but do they even think about things before they go charging into their brand spanking idea to get the average Yankee doodle interested in whatever these muppets are offering?
Let's start off with the Olympics, now i'm a big fan of Baseball but why on earth was that in the Olympics? First of all you've only got about 8 teams in the competition in the first place and secondly the Olympics happens to be slap bang in the middle of Baseball season and unlike Football, the Baseball teams aren't going to be letting all their top stars go to Athens to play a bit of stick and ball. Ask any American whether they'd want to see an olympic baseball game or a regular MLB game and you'd get a 100% answer favouring the latter option. So now, you don't have all the top stars in the olympics what do they do? College players, i mean the Americans love college basketball and American Football, surely they'll love college baseball too? Errrrrr..........no, sorry Olympic head honcho guy no sale here back to the drawing board.
And now to the cricket. Exactly what are these fools thinking?
*Ooooh lets find 11 Americans that are rubbish at all their other favourite sports and form a cricket team and then chuck them in against the likes of South Africa and Australia, i mean what American wouldn't want to watch a game of cricket, and a game of cricket where they're getting their ass handed to them at that*
These idiots really should be working in Parliament because they're so far from the real world they'd make a great politician.
Let's examine the facts here:
The American Football season has now started
Baseball season is reaching the playoffs
Nascar will be starting soon
The college games in American Football and Basketball will be starting soon
The Ryder Cup is in full swing
so when exactly did these cricket people all get together and think *Hey what can be more excited to these Americans then a game of cricket? they've not got anything else to be watching sports wise at the moment have they?*
Yes cracking the American market is a great idea in theory however a game of cricket is not going to appeal to us lot at all, hell it doesn't even appeal to the majority of English people and you invented the flipping thing (or the french, can't rememeber who it was, meh who cares) and it especially isn't going to appeal when they're slap bang in the middle of the seasons of their already established sports. So go away ICC, take your crappy little sport with you and don't come back, Barry Bonds has just hit his 700th home run and Terell Owens has just got 3 touchdowns on his debut and that's all we care about
