The girlfriend (lol i kis gerls yuk) picked up Animal Crossing in the States when she went last year. I got a Freeloader disc to play it with, but the first one was dud. Now I have a second disc, which boots fine, but when Animal Crossing loads up I get the Nintendo logo, then just a blank screen. I can hear the game fine (I could happily play it if it weren't for the complete lack of graphics) and I *believe* my TV is NTSC compatible (it plays games at 60Hz fine, but I'm not ruling out an NTSC issue because the telly it was blooming cheap when I bought it). My Gamecube is about two years old, it's one of the silver jobbies bundled with Wind Waker, so I don't think it's a versioning problem. I've spent half a year not being able to play this sodding game, during which it's come out in the UK, and my patience is wearing thin.
1) Put in the freeloader, but don't load it up. On the cube options menu, press up so it says that the freeloader is in. Then, open it and put in AC.
2) Load it up and follow instructions.
