Barrichello's hot streak continues with 2nd pole position in a row

Rubens Barrichello has taken pole position for the Italian Grand Prix as he continues his late charge for the title. It's his 2nd pole position in a row, his 3rd pole position of the season and his 3rd front row start in 4 races.

It was a pretty dismal day on the track with rain playing havoc with the times. It also played havoc with the Championship leaders. Baumgartner and Salo will both start on the back row, giving hope to the chasing pack.

If Baumgartner doesn't score points in the race, it's an important race for Raikkonen, M Schumacher, Pantano, De La Rosa, Heidfeld, Sato, Fisichello and Pizzonia as the majority of them need to score big points to stay in the title picture.

The chasing pack had mixed fortunes. Villeneuve needs to keep scoring points but 14th might make that difficult. Barrichello starts on pole position, Button starts 8th for the second race in a row, Ralf Schumacher starts 9th and Montoya will be hoping for a nice points haul from 5th.

Barrichello on pole position should make the Championship leaders sit up and take notice, while Bruni in 2nd is an unknown quantity and has been known to take cars out. Heidfeld continues his end of season run with 3rd and Firman has found his form, albeit late, with 4th. Montoya starts 5th alongside Michael Schumacher in 6th. Fisichella and Button start 7th and 8th respectively as a number of drivers need points in the race.

21st Baumgartner (N/A) 1m30.966s (+1.079s)
22nd Salo (Biggie Little) 1m31.129s (+1.242s)

The pressure begins to build and build as the end nears and with all the titles still undecided, everyone will be scrambling to impress. If the rain stays, the conditions will be treacherous. What will happen? Find out on Wednesday!

Heh, well, I've solved the issue without changing the qualifying results so the race will be up later tonight with these results.

Okay, it's looking like the save cannot be salvaged. I'm going to give it one last try tonight and if it fails again, this qualifying will be edited with a new one and the race will be up hopefully on Friday.

The 'wonders' of modern technology eh? :)

Looks like Verstappen has a lot of work to do if he's going to get any points from 13th. Well, thats if the race goes ahead with these positions on the grid. :)

IMPORTANT NOTICE! The race will be delayed as the save file became corrupted. This may affect the results of qualifying, although I'm trying my hardest to correct the problem.

Thank you.

6th is not too shady at all. Well by my standards that is.

Heh, the last time I checked, team ownership was under no persons control, although that is one of the ideas I was thinking of implementing. It would require the people who take it on to be ambassadors for the Championship. But then, they would get more of an opinion on how the Championship is run. If that makes any sense.

As for Button in qualifying, I would guess that what has happened is that he doesn't get the fastest time when he goes around the track. :)

I am really disappointed with my collegue's form as of late. He is really letting the team down. I'm considering terminating his contract (as owner of...what's our group called again?) and doing his job myself.
