I swear it said in Checky's documentation that PHP checking was supported.
Meaning it can check PHP when you have the source code in front of you. If it's been processed by a server however you can't view the proper source.
I'm downloading this Zend Studio Personal Edition if that helps.
But you should really check out the site first before saying "BUT I CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY IT!!!"

Yup, I am more then willing to fork out the £250 or so to purchase this software.

phi11ip, I fail to understand what that means. "During development", I mean, eh?

That sorts that problem.
- Validate and analyse HTML, XHTML, CSS, RDF, RSS, XML, WAI, Section 508, P3P, hyperlinks, metadata and many more
- Validate resources from your local hard drive or intranet locations (e.g. http://localhost/index.html)
- Validate dynamic PHP, Perl, CGI, Java, ASP, ColdFusion, C# resources (e.g. *.jsp, *.php, *.cgi, *.do, *.pl) during development
