Telesales are annoying, but sometimes trying to cancel a service by phone can be worse. As i work in a call centre i know what to expect, but the guy at AOL was taking the biscuit. After refusing a month of AOL for free on 3 occasions i finally interrupted his spiel (which was grammatically poor) and finally said "sorry, i just want to cancel".
Thankfully he seemed to understand my instruction.

They can't understand my accent... it's not that broad Scottish as well. They have a cheek as well, stupid Essex birds.
118 500 (BT's own service) is good. An English person on the other end (or someone with a convincingly good English accent), and prompt service with no waiting. Just don't let 'em put you through to a number, as they charge premium rates.

I hate the 118 system. Twice I've rung and they've never heard of my home town, and another time they gave me the wrong number.
I hate telesales - especially when you ask them to take your details out of their system/phone book and they phone you back the next week.
