- Then a while later, edge of the area, possibly about to bury the ball, he has his legs taken out from behind, penalty no 2 for Newcastle.
- Fulham penalty, ok so it wasn't a penalty, but once the ref has awarded it, he can't go changing his mind.
- Perfectly good Fulham goal, great header between two defenders, 2-0 Fulham at half time, completely different outcome.
- Cahill sending off. Why oh why is taking your shirt off a yellow cardable offence? Someone please explain the idea behind this.
- Danny Granville's free kick was actually perfect, except for the fact it hit the woodwork, it was spot on in the precise corner. Unlucky son.
- Popovic, someone mentioned this earlier, an absolutely genius goal.
I leave you with the quote of the week:
'Jesper Grokjaer.....that's a decent ball.'
Then, van der Sar is booked for surrounding the linesman later in the game.

Did Van der Sar make a big arch-way approach with his arms and cover the Linesman? ;)

Well, that does often surprise me.....

Yes, I agree here. And actually check that refs do their job. Granted, it was at Conference level, but we had a ref two weeks ago, in an important local derby, that completely screwed us. It was so blatant that even the Away fans admitted he was far too generous to them, and gave us nothing even threatening their goal.
It is my honest belief that he was bought off.
Saying, "they want a load of robots, and soon they'll have that and no one will watch anymore".
Don't be suprised if when City next score they do the old 80's robot dance.

Its a Fifa directive.
Personally, i blame Diego Forlan.

Couldn't agree more, definite penalty even despite the ref having a tough position to see it. Lino should've been looking too.

Yeah, another I agree, even though it looked less of a peno than the first. But hey, they won 3 - 1 so all is not lost.

It has happened at a Woking game I've been to, actually. Dying moments, we're 3 - 2 down, our man flick the ball in the net through a bundle of bad tackles, yells of "penalty!" ring. The ref says no but the lino is flagging, he ends overruling his first decision and gives it. I agree, its shoddy, but sometimes its good if they get the decision right. You wouldn't have minded had it been a penalty CORRECTLY escaped for Spurs, and he genuinely didn't take a lot of time over it.
But then again, I see you've taken the easy route, as a Spurs fan, and decided not to mention Henry's absolute stone cold penalty down the other end. ;^)

Yeah, I couldn't see what was wrong with that really. John had a hold of Toure's shirt, but that happens all the time, and it was a bit 50 - 50. I'd have definitely given it.

Its purely because the FA rules are an absolute mess.

Well if it was perfect it'd cained the top of the post and slipped in. ;^)
I know what you mean though, great effort, and if he keeps hitting them a goal will come - Shaka was nowhere.

Yes, genius.

Heh, well it is the BBC.
