Currently I own:
AMD Athlon- Thunderbird 850Mhz
256mb 133Mhz RAM
SoundBlaster Live
Blah Blah

My graphics card is however only a Voodoo 3 2000. (yes it is rather pathetic by todays standards)

I would like to know which graphics card(s) you recommend and why. I would appreciate your input as I am intending on purchasing a graphics card. I would like a powerful card for a reasonable amount of money (anyone that suggests the Nvida GeForce 2 Ultra at the ultra price of >£300 shall be shot).

If you like your graphics card (and it is more powerful than voodoo 3) then could you tell me please, I would also like to know if it has any cool additional features, ie TV output, dual monitor output, etc.

Also if you know of any poor graphics cards could you please tell me so I know to avoid it, thank-you.

I use a GeForce2 mx in here, and the performance is ok, but not really up to the standard of the rest of the machine. It does outperform many other cards, and is a great buy for the price (£65+). Otherwise, the GeForce2 GTS is good (around £130), but still not up to the standard of the ultra. I'm waiting for a GeForce3 now, mad savings time..

Theres is quite a range of GeFroce2 cards... MX is bottom of the range... and Ultra the top...

It depends how much money you want to spend...

How much memory your expecting...

etc...

I recently bought a Guillemot 3D ProphetGeForce2 MX and it's brilliant - far better than my old 3D Blaster Voodoo Banshee.

However, you may want to wait until the end of May when the Guillemot Geforce3 is released; but it is much more expensive.

I'll be ordering a MAXX 1.7GHz at the end of the month; I was going to get it last month, but decided to wait for this card.

Well... for games there was only really to real choices...

NVida and 3DFX...

However... since NVida has bought out 3DFX... NVida are the only real choice to make...

Especially since ELSPA has just slashed the prices of its cards...
