Surprised no one mentioned this (or if they did i missed it and i can't be bothered to go looking for it, meh sue me) the french result against Israel and the greek result against Albania

The froggies without ZZ obviously not being such a force and our Euro champs losing to some minnow side. Has footie gone loopy? Next thing you know Scotland will win a game :-D

Its the end of an era for the France football team. The backbone of the team that won the world cup is no longer there with the likes of Zidane, Deschamps, Blanc etc. France have to build a new team with a new backbone with the likes of Henry, Vieira etc. But it doesnt look likely that they will win any major trophies in the near future.

Claude Makelele, at 31, has now joined the likes of Lillian Thuram, Bixente Lizarazu and "Zizou" in retiring from international football, for good.

Without Vieira, France are screwed!

i think Greece winning the Euro was an act of god. Thats what my greek mate keeps telling me anyway. Stuff like how god guided the ball straight to Dellas' head in the semi.

Dunno, before Euro 2004 Greece were prety unexpected as tourny faves. Maybe they're back to their normal ways.
