createimagefromgif and createimagefromjpeg

I'm fine on these two once I know one thing - where does it go? Do you use it as you're uploading an image to create an additional thumb, or as you're displaying an uploaded, bigger image in the browser? Or either?

Well how it goes is, you use imagecreatefromjpeg on a file, then do whatever you want to it (probably imageresize), then use imagejpeg to spew the image back to the browser.

imagecreatefromjpeg returns an image handler for you to reference.

So it's instead of loading the full image, it makes a jpg 'on the fly'? I got the code working, but the GD isn't up to date on one place I upload, but may be on another.

Imagemagick is SLOW and UNOPTIMIZED and will KILL your server. Steer clear.

Monkey_man, the PHP manual tells you exactly what to do with these (as I can't remember right now). If I was to look it up though, I would just check the manual.
