Changes to your MSNŽ HotmailŽ account

As you probably know, your MSN Hotmail account is changing for the better.

From this autumn, all free Hotmail accounts will have a 250MB inbox, as well as the ability to send and receive attachments of up to 10MB. With MSN Calendar, you'll also be able to manage your time more efficiently by sharing your calendar with others. You'll also get twice the amount of spam protection with the ability to block up to 500 specific e-mail addresses or entire domains.

Your Hotmail account is already the only free global e-mail service that both scans and cleans incoming and outgoing e-mail for viruses and worms. Plus, Microsoft Smartscreen technology gives you a choice between 3 spam filtering levels, including our exclusive spam-free inbox. Hotmail also allows you to express yourself with rich text editing, custom signatures, photo e-mail and more!

I've got avccounts at both GMail and Hotmail- It's always handy to have two email addresses, purely for the reason that one can be used for mailing lists, and the other for everything else. Hotmail will still only have a quarter of the space of GMail, though- and it'll probably just as annoying to download attachments with. I've got no spam on GMail so far, and I only get a few a day with Hotmail. Happy with it all? Yes.

I have a catch all mail box, one of the reasons I get so much spam.
With GMail I like many features and it is forcing other services to follow and provide a better service (hopefully)

I'd rather stick with hotmail than move to Gmail. I just don't like the idea of having it scanned. Although hotmail probably do anyway.

Too much hassle changing my email address with everything.

Well I'm heavily spammed by over 6000 emails per day (dam u spam ***) and my spam box which I havent cleared for a couple of months is still around 70mb, it may not hurt them at first to increase space amounts but obviously over time it will so they have to find a way to sustain this growth.

Yeah I think it was bound to happen. Not sure I'll ever have a GB worth of emails.

Begging? No. Keeping up with the times/competition? Yes.

It was a certainty that hotmail would follow suit with Gmail.
