Maybe God understands death better than we do? Perhaps if we looked beyond our blind little emotions of "oh the humanity", we'd notice a rather larger picture being painted.

But who knows, just a guess.

I read something recently about the possibility of gas-based lifeforms on other planets. Electrically charged particles could be suspended in a vapour, effectively forming a neural network capable of storing whatever kind of stimuli they react to, the same way our brain stores images, sounds, memories, etc. Clouds could then join seamlessly to form bigger clouds, eventually resulting in an entire planet covered in electrically charged cloud, so it would be lightning all the time. Pretty cool, even cooler than dinosaurs.

Do they commit suicide by raining?

Yeah, why not.
