More cricket today. A real lesson was handed out today…unfortunately we were on the receiving end.
They scored 239 runs for 4 wickets off 35 overs and the declared. Yes, they declared in a one day match!
I bowled 8 overs taking to wickets, but 3 catches were dropped on my bowling.
I took one catch, which was quite good even if I say so myself.

This is an 11-year old on our team. I took the catch when he was bowling, so he took a wicket.

And this is a peach of a Yorker I bowled.

So we were given a tough target of about 6 an over. Considering we were a bowling side, it didn’t look too good. In fact we along with the spectators got a pool going each putting in a quid and then guessing at what time they would have bowled us all out. I went in a number 5 and the first ball I faced was a bouncer. It would have broken my nose, but I got to do one of those great evasions. Matrix style. It looked cool.
Anyhoo, I got the second highest score on our team…I got 9 runs

I was on the end of a few tonkings myself y'know... But I gave up cricket this year really. Never really got round to it.

That 11 year old must be a hell of a good player to get in your team at that age or you must be desperately short over player.
That was his first game. He's a decent bowler and is good in the field. He can't bat though.
