Ok. Ive got a video from my mate and its a .wmv file. What I want to do is somehow convert it into a format that can be played on a DVD player rather than having to watch it on my computer? Does anyone know how to do this or what programs I may need.

Cheers, Geffdof.

Ha ha. I thought someone would say that. Its a video of my bands first gig. My mates just got a digital camcorder and videoed it for us.

I download files as .avi then use WinDVD creator to convert it and burn it onto a DVD disk at the same time. I received the file last nigth over msn and am trying to work it all out now, but my firend says it works.

If this doesn't work, I use Cucusoft AVI to DVD VCD MPEG (lite version) to convert the files, then use IFoEdit to convert the new files into dvd files, then I use nero to burn those files onto DVD.

In basic terms.

Your .WMV --> asf convertor --> .MPEG --> Author with TMPEG dvd author
--> Files which were authored (.VOB, .BUP and .IFO) you burn to your blank dvd with Nero.

You need to get that file into the MPEG format which you then need to author. I havent done that before but if you go here http://www.boilsoft.com/ you can get the asf convertor to do that for you.

You will then need to use an authoring program (i use TMPEG dvd author) to turn your MPEG into a bunch of .VOB files which you can burn to your dvd with nero.
