Davenport is with dawson one of the best young CB's in Div 1 and though i think it may take him time for him to settle to top of the league standard he has the potential to be an England international, and at least they can kick richards out! Could be future england certainly if Carragher can get in the squad!
Lil Bro can now shut up about Leigh mills or whoever that 16y ear old is who has never even seen a football, as they actually have signed a good quality future centre back.
Next season is looking incresingly more promising for them as they are assembling a good spine.
Robinson, Davenport, King, Davis, Davies, Carrick, Defoe and Keane is a very strong british backbone. Most of the rest of the squad isn't really up to top 6 standard either now or in a couple of years but if they continue signing players like the ones above who i have just named, who all but king have joined in the last 18 months there future will look a lot more promising and a top 6 position more of a reality. THe core is good, if they can dget davies back on form and get some decent wide players then they could do alright. i see 8th or 9th next season, but with more consistent building 6th place would not be beyond them for next year.
