News just in: Robson has been 'relieved of his duties'

No links, yet. When the BBC posts something, I'll stick a link to it.

Dammit, I loved the Robson as well. He was like Ranieri #2

I was incredibly surprised when I saw this on BBC Sport. So the team's had a bad start to the season- but this is a bit early to sack the manager, surely? He did well enough last year, right?

Good luck to whoever Newcastle bring in, because it won't be an easy job...

It was his last season anyway, so I can understad their logic. Just not with Bobby Robson.

think it was necessary but stupid timing.great idea! let the old manager spend all the transfer funds, sell the only defender at the club, and do all this 36 hours before the transfer deadline.

Stupid decision. You can imagine what the board response was.

"Robson has killed all our wives and he's planning to blow up our stadium."
"Ah well, the man's a genius. Never mind, eh?"
"Now he's dropped Shearer!"
"DROPPED SHEARER!! He must be destroyed. Die Robson Die."
"...Hang on, aren't Bellamy and Kluivert, erm, y'know...better?
"You'll get nowhere at this club with that attitude."

They've actually got more points than they had at the same point last season...
