There was me, reading the Sport of the supreme Sunday Times, noting what a dirty cheat Saha is and the inevitable "Robson drops Shearer now Robson must burn and then we kill his mother" story.

When I turn the page, and what do I see?

"Ready,Steady,Cole". At first glance I thought - must be Ashley. But no, there's a smiling picture of Joe in England kit, and the article just goes on the sing Joe's praises for a whole praise, and how Joe thinks he's the man and Sven thinks Joe's the man and therefore we should all think Joe's the man.

I think he's the man.

That's all. As you were.

Even that was deflected. :P

I have no problem with Joe Cole. He's been superb this season, and his performance against leeds last season showed us what is to come from him. I wanted him at the club a few years before he came, and clearly so did Ken Bates, as he put aside 6 million and set up a secret deal with West Ham about 2 years before he signed. Considering we were losing a lot of money at that time, it shows how much we did want him.
