i have downloaded the doom 3 demo it is great but i cant run it at high quality, well i can and its smooth but when i come into a new area the hard drive goes into a frenzy and the game stops for about 4 to 6 seconds, i have 512 megabytes of memory, at the moment and 256 megabyte nivia geofore fx 5600, 2.8 gig procesor
do you think more memory will solve this problem. becawse i am intending to get the full game also the full game may not have to load so much of just the hard drive becaws it may load of the CD and hard drive at the same time
i have heard that to much ram slows the pc down, i could get 256 meg memory or 512 and have aprox 1 gig but i dont want to slow it down
can you recomend any good ram

Something weird like 378mb is the minimum to run D3, 1 gb is the recommended.
So yes, memory would solve the problem, and no, 1 gb is not too much.
I can't however recommend you a good brand. I always buy mobo / mem / processor bundles. Because I'm lazy. :)
