Previously, I've been thinking about changing my old DVD player to region 1 only, as it would only accept 20 odd changes, but the other day I happened across a hack for my Grundig GDV520 that would make it multiregion.
Being a bit sceptical at first, I hesitently pushed the buttons as the instructions told me too and all of a sudden a hidden menu appeared on screen asking me what region I wanted! I pressed the mute button and before my eyes the word ALL came up and I danced around the room with joy (while my wife ran to phone the funny farm)
I can now think about getting region 1 dvds as well as the UK ones. Of course, I'll still get mostly UK releases, as I can't afford anything until they arrive over here most of the time anyway, but it's nice to have the option!
Oh well, I must get this massive grin off my face sometime, but it's just made me incredibly happy for a few minutes!
