Theres Dead or Alive 2, which in my eyes is the best fighter out. Tekken Tag is practically the same as the other with spruced up graphics and the bowling.
Starfighter is also a good game, with brilliant graphics and enough there to keep you coming back for more.
Z.O.E is a good game, if a bit repetitive, but the MGS2 demo adds to this to make it an essential purchase.
At the moment, I am playing Tiger Woods golf and I must say, it is very good, with stunning graphics and captures golf brilliantly, although it could have captured more golf courses.
To answer your question, the best at the moment would most likely be DOA2 because it is a very good game, which I still play for the sheer pace of the fighting. But this will change with fighters such us Virtua fighter $ and Tekken 4 being released. And of course there is GT3 and Metal Gear solid 2.
I am a beat em up person which is why I like DOA2 so much, so at the moment, for me, DOA2 is the best and I can't wait for the next one.
