Ok... so I've got one of these and every now and then it'll start dialing up to some number, to which I usually turn off the PC asap. What I really need to know are what are the consequences of a dialer (i.e. cost, damage to computer etc.), how I can track the dialer down and any programs that can deal with the problem.

Thanks for your time.

I had one a few weeks ago, and it cost me just over £15 in phone bills for a 10-minute call before I noticed it. I'm in the process of getting it refunded.

I suggest you get all of this FREE software:

My mate got one of these, and at the end of the month, the £900 phone bill was a bit of a shock.

OK, I've tried a few different methods to track the irritant down. I need to know whether deleting this;

application/x-msdownload from the .exe Registry Editor

is the right way to go about things.
