I think the Game Boy Advance will be the savour of gameplay. As it can’t produce graphics as the PlayStation2 can, it has focused on gameplay.
I appreciate the Game Boy Advance because I know that it will remind people that graphics aren’t the only thing that makes a game good or not.
Just out of interest, how many people are going to buy a Game Boy Advance because it is focusing on gameplay more than graphics?
I for one am. I accept that it will not produce as quality graphics as the PS2, but I also think that Game Boy Advance will have better Gameplay games than the PS2.
I’m not saying that Game Boy Advance has rubbish graphics, anyone who thinks that it has, download the Tony Hawks video.
I’m also thinking that we will see some different styled games on the hand held as well. I’m not sure what exactly but I have a sneaky feeling that Nintendo have a few tricks up their sleeves.
What do the rest of you think?
Cheers.
Sometimes it needs a break from all the high tech, real time, photo realism found in todays titles - Sitting back playing the old classics again F-Zero, Castlevania, Mario World, is going to be great!! Its why I play my GBC so much now - sometimes the limitations in a console can be a good thing!!
Well, that's not exactly true, I could mumble on about it for hours in a 'ooh, look at that lovely handheld' way, but I'd just get labelled a GBA obsessive.
Incidentally, the GBA games being shown now look fantastic and it really will be the best console around by the end of the year, it is simply fantastic and everyone has to get one......blah......gameboy advanced....blah......best thing..... sliced bread....blah....

Nintendo have this huge back-catalogue of incredible games for the SNES that can be ported with minimal time nor effort to the new little handheld, and so do SEGA too. It's far easier to deliver a port than a new game, so for the first 6 months of the machines life, don't expect more than ports from the companies.
Just look at the releases so far, games treading the tried and tested formulae of the 16 BIT era, platform games, side scrolling shoot em ups etc. etc.
I do think that the Gameboy advance will deliver the goods, but only after the ports are exhausted.
But then again, who would turn their nose up at Return of Shinobi, Streetfighter II or Final Fight on the bus in a tube strike?
