Been wanting to see it for ages and it's been out on R1 for a little while now. Thanks to a current lack of work, I wasn't able to afford it until the other day when I picked it up for £5 on eBay.
It was worth the wait and all the good things people say about it are true. It's a simple little film about a man who inherits an old train deport and the life and people he meets there. The catch is, he's a dwarf. But this isn't a laugh riot film which you may expect (although it does crack a few laughs). He loves trains and longs for peace and quiet, but everywhere he goes heads turn and people talk. Just outside his new home, lives the chatty Joe and his sick Dad's hotdog stand and just down the road is the troubled Olivia.
The way the characters interact and adapt to each other is fantastic and very believable. The film makes you smile, laugh and feel great sadness towards the characters at times. It also has one of the best visulisation of being drunk, that I can remember seeing in a film.
It's out next month sometime on R2 and I strongly suggest you look into it. It's truly a fantasic film that I'm sure many of you will love and enjoy watching as much as I did.
Sorry this isn't the best of reviews...I'm tired and feel a cold coming on.
It's out in UK very soon (or maybe already) and then you'll know what the hell I'm talking about.
