Do you think it would be any good because I've noticed the thumb pad sometimes seems to scratch the screen if the edges touch it.

They look terrible :| I'll stick with my normal thumbstrap..
Just get some screen protectors if you're worried about the screen.

I want a thumb thinger that actually goes over your thumb, not around it, with a more pointed bit than the strap. That would be me happy.

I think that this Finger thing might be useful for typing on the Animal Crossing touchscreen keyboard. :-)
