Greece lost again to Mexico and are out.

Argentina completed carried on thier 100% record with a 1-0 over Australia scored by d'alessandro with the outside of his left foot. Class goal.

Argentina V Portugal looks likely in the 1/4s now with Hienze and Ronaldo meeting potentially for the first time!

For the athletic part maybe but as far as the Major sports go it's just more games on the calender and a pain to teams who have players called up.

You're just racist towards them. If Mali hadn't won, it would've been racism by Greece. Obviously.

The Olympics is the biggest, most important sporting Compeition in the world. That's the reason whay they would be so proud to win medals, not playing really well against very strong teams like in the World Cup, for example. Plus, when Kanu won with Nigeria they beat Brazil. An achievement for any African (Or any other) side, but getting a championship out of it was an added bonus.

Y'know, I'd say most people wouldnt mind winning an Olympic medal. Klinsmann, I think, stated it was his biggest achievement. As did Kanu.

You have to remember that the Olympic competiton is on a very small scale. All teams are Under-23, with 3 players older than this allowed per squad. Plus, since the football season has started in most countries, few top-notch players can be bothered with playing.
