Sorry for another topic.

Where's the best place to get good quality RAM from?
I've got 256mb just now, and have been meaning to get more for some time now.

Also, I'm looking to get a Radeon 9800 Pro, as this graphics card is pretty much dead. Is eBuyer best for this?

My mobo is a Giga-Byte GA-7VTX by the by.

Bah, don't listen to me.

My knowledge is riddled with holes.

Heh, yeah, I noticed that. But I didn't really see what the major difference would be.
Cheers.

They're by different manufacturers!

Get the sapphire, the only thingoConnect3Ds are good for are overclocking - although it will, in theory, last longer, but both will probably outlive AGP.

Ok, I've found two (from eBuyer).

One's cheaper than the other, but to the untrained eye/idiot/me, there doesn't seem to be much difference other than some letters and stuff.

So - which would perform best/last longest?

Cheers.

But a 9800 Pro can be got for £200 less. 6800 is newer but a 9800 Pro will run current games well. I run Doom 3 on 1280x1024 with 16xAF. Far Cry at 1280x1024 with everything high.

If I was going for a new card I would get the X800 XT-PE. 6800 are good for Doom 3 and not much else, and the ATI cards in Doom 3 are going to catch up as people have modded the shaders to work better with ATI cards.

For RAM you want TwinMOS, and make sure you get dual sticks if you have an nForce 2 board.

What processor do you have? In general, eBuyer isn't too good for anything other than AMD systems.

As for graphics cards, I'd personally go for a GeForce 6800. I'm getting a GT for £317 from komplett - bargain. My RAM I also got from komplett. You should probably go for another 256MB DIMM, and run it in dual channel with your existing one.
