Oh how I've missed it on BBC2, you can never get bored of it no matter how many times you have seen it, havent been watching it on Sky because i've missed it either doing work or being on the computer, glued to these forums or looking at por...anyway heard a while ago that Channel 4 had bought out the rights for the new series of The Simpsons.

Will be glad to see it back on telly, and that Channel 4 will adopt The Simpsons instead of countless repeats of Friends which I have seen somany times I know every one of Chandler's crap jokes and every stupid thing Joey has ever said.

Will be refreshing to see The Simpsons back on telly and see what they have done with this season, as pretty much of The Simpsons is 'gold' anyway

P.S. Its back on Channel 4 in Autumn 2004

Simpsons was worthwhile up to about series 10. Anything after that for the most part is cringeworthingly bad, once the new writers took over the show plummeted off the normal scale of awfulness.

It's probably not really THAT bad, it's just knowing how amazingly funny the show used to be you can't help but hate it.

I've always liked The Simpsons and despite the fact the plotlines have got poorer in the last few years, it is still watchable. But at least Channel 4 won't keep showing Friends as much now. And that's about as funny as having a vasectomy, in direct comparrison. And at Christmas, Channel 4 Will be showing an episode where Lisa gets involved in the Cornish Independence Movement. Illogical and confusing, but potentially hilarious.

So you're happy to settle for mediocrity? TV's bad enough as it is, without the crap that the Simpson's has become. It used to be famous for poking fun at celebrity, politics, and had some truly funny situations and jokes. Now all it's famous for is being that show that used to be funny.

There's some furore at the moment in America about an episode where one of the regular characters 'comes out'. That plot, and the one or two episodes where a character dies shows just how shallow the show has become, that it has to rely on febble attempts at shocking their entrenched loyal fans.

Matt Groening should be forced at gunpoint to create more simpsons until he dies.

You can argue that a lot of the newer episodes are quite frankly pants, but interspersed with these is the occasional one that contains that comedy magic that can't fail to make you laugh. Even in the rubbish episodes there is always the odd bit that makes you laugh out loud.

So in closing, I'd rather another 10 years of under par simpsons episodes than no simpsons episodes at all. Just the other day I saw one I hadn't seen before, and it had me chuckling mindlessly just like Doctor Hibbert.

I'd rather see them repeating the old classics than the new crap.

I hope 'The Simpsons' remains on telly until Matt Groening decides to pack it in. My mum is sick of the repeated episodes, but I don't care!

Still, at least Channel-4 have found something better than 'friends'.

Has Jesus got a DVD player? No, he has to wait for repeats on Sky like everyone else who hasn't got the boxsets.

I've got seasons 1-4 on DVD. Probably get 5 and 6, but after that, who gives a flying f**k?

The Simpsons will remain funny until I die. I've seen certain episodes dozens of times and they still make me laugh, there's not many comedies you can say that about.
