Well, I need a method of getting my CD collection to mp3s. Free is appreciated, and, perhaps, near essential, but I'd be prepared to part money/use a trial for a decent peice of software.

Anyone?

I'll have to solidify the claims that DBpoweramp is the best money can't buy - it's free, see.

As well as conveting to MP3's (of which you can change the frequency and output quality) you can also convert to wav files which is useful if you use music editing software such as eJay etc.

I think musicmatch jukebox is good. You have to pay if you want all the features tho, unless you can get a code from somewhere.

I have a problem. I stored all my songs on Windows media Player. I want to tranfer these to Itunes, however, I need to convert WMA format to MP3 format. I have found a free download to do this, but only allows me to do 3 songs at a time, which is a nightmare. Does any1 know of a quicker way to do this.

Also for some reason Itunes doesnt do it for me. When i try and drag the songs from Windows media player to itunes it doesnt work.

You can use Media Player to upload music from a CD to your PC, and convert the tracks into WMA files. This is good for ripping stuff, although if a CD won't load due to protection, this obviously won't work. There's also a program similar to Sound Recorder called 'Capture' which can be used to convert any sound played on a PC into MP3 of almost any bitrate; However, I wouldn't get it: I'm not sure about how well it works and its legality, seeing as it is no longer sold.
