nvida 4200 gforce ti

having just installed win pro into new HD everyting going fine when the screen went blank the HD light and cdrw light were flickering very quickly opened up the pc sides and then fans were running. So switched off at the mains then on again pressed the button the fans run but nothing else i have power to the MB as the power light on the board is lit the HD&CDRW lights still flicker .Switch off at the mains again then switch the mains on but not the on switch i have main power light on permantly, can any one help i hope it,s power supply and not MB if it is off to the shops i go to spend a lot more dosh

it was the M/B and power pack so new mother and power pack thanks for replys
Smell the PSU does it smell burnt? (normally the best way to see if the PSU has blown but I wouldn't recommend sniffing whilst plugged into the mains)
Could be a faulty Mobo.
Oh wait, that Motherboard is the same as the one i have it is a pile of poo. Be thankful that it has broke and get another one.
