Hello,
I have just got this Graphics Card and have slotted it into the AGP slot on my Motherboard. When i turn on the computer nothing appears on the monitor and the graphics card 'Beeps'.
Does anyone know why it would do this?
This card is meant for AGP 8x and the AGP slot on my motherboard is AGP 4x would this be the problem.
Hope you are able to help me out.
Thankyou,
James

That would normally suggest the motherboard is having problems initializing the graphics card, could be slightly loose, dead graphics card or it is incompatible with your board (even thought 8x is backwards compatible with 4x boards so that should not be the problem but set the motherboard to 4x instead of 2x)

That is what I thought but I have fitted it so many times that it probably is not that.
I am in the process on trying it on another computer.

I really doubt it's anything to do with AGP, they're all backwards compatable. Try putting in your old graphics card and see if you haven't broken anything in the process of installing your new card. You could also try your new card in another computer to see if it's a problem with the card itself.

Its just one beep.
I think it might be because in the BIOS the AGP slot was set to 2X and not 4X.
It does not require a power cable.

The AGP shouldn't be a problem. Sounds like the card is broken or misseated. Does it need a power cable?
