Because you're a geek and going out in the sun is good for your bones.
Three of the major roads in my town have swolen and cracked due to the excessive rainfall, and the road that forks off from my cul-de-sac is 18 inches deep in water.
Madness.

Sod off :P
Had to build a shed all day :(:(
It's been sunny for the last 4 weeks, never went out then :D
Why start now!
The ceilings of four shops fell down in the shopping complex, in Staines, as the borough was battered by the downpour.
Surrey Police were called to the centre, in Mustard Mill Road, at about 4.15pm, when the flooding caused structural damage and electrical problems.
Inspector Chris Aspland, of North Surrey Police, who was in charge at the scene, said: "When I arrived at Two Rivers, I was told that roofs had collapsed.
"I found that there was serious flooding, in Currys, and part of its internal ceiling had collapsed, though not the roof.
"The same was true in Boots and JJB Sports. Waitrose also lost a small part of its ceiling.
I sent officers to check every store - all were affected either by flooding, or minor internal water damage in some way.
"The cinema had minimal flooding, which did not affect its business. It was carefully assessed by the fire brigade.
"A number of stores were cordoned off, including the areas where the car park pay points were situated.
"In order to get people away quickly, car park barriers were lifted, and cars were waved through."
No one was hurt in the incident and, by 6pm, the police said the building had been made safe.
Arlington Property Investors, the owner of Two Rivers, said: "Due to excessive amounts of rainfall, in the Staines area, a section of the drainage was unable to cope, causing a build-up of water in the ceiling above a section of Two Rivers.
"The excessive levels of water caused an area of the ceiling to collapse, and water to come through. A further section was also effected by ground floor flooding.
"The area remains closed, and has been investigated by fire and building officers."
Due to the closure of Mustard Mill Road, and flooding around the Crooked Billet, there was serious disruption to traffic, in Staines, throughout the rush-hour period.
Police were also advising motorists to steer clear of the A30, due to the size of some of the puddles.
Rail commuters faced a difficult journey home as a result of lightning striking the power supply at Earlsfield, knocking out the signalling power for the region.
A spokesman for South West Trains told the Guardian: "It had a knock-on effect on all our network lines departing Waterloo, from 3.50pm.
"We had to operate a train shuttle service, from Staines to Weybridge, and from Staines to Windsor, to help ease some of the severe congestion. From 5.30pm, we had to operate an emergency train service on our key routes, providing one to two trains per hour, for Tuesday night."
Also, I dunno if the new Woolies flooded. £500000 refurbishment, too.
