I'm sure this has been dealt with in numerous forums and sites across the web but I can't seem to find a concise "how to" - apologies for any repetition.
I have a number of .mpeg and .avi files which I would like to burn to a DVD and then play on my PS2. Before I go ahead and waste my blank DVD's trying, what do I need to do?
My main concerns are :
1) can PS2 (UK version) play mpeg and avi files directly, or do I need to re-code them?
2) I have Nero, is this suitable for burning the disk or do I need other/additional software?
3) I also want to back up some of my DVD's - does anyone know where I can get a concise and reliable web guide to doing this? I think the files need to be decoded from the original before I can burn them - is there any, preferably free, software I can use to do this?
Thanks for your help,
edno
