Wooooo, it took me about 10 odd attempts but I finally did it!

http://www.phi11ip.com/ran/wasp.jpg for a picture.

http://www.phi11ip.com/ran/wasp.wmv for the motion picture.

Now tell me that isn't impressive?

I let it fly round in circles for a few minutes then I tied a small newspaper aeroplane to the end of the string and released it, the camera decided to be stubborn however so I didn't get anything of that.

It was quite amusing though, all I saw was a small piece of newspaper flying out of the garden and into the wilderness.

I don't care if it's cruel. The string will fall off as it was only tied on losely, and the wasp will learn to stay away from the 'bee bush.'

My dad showed me how to do that - apparently he and some friends used to do it at work a lot. They used the solvents at work (He's a printer) to make the wasps unconcious then tie the string around them whilst they're out, and used to tie them to the ceiling and watch them fly around in circles.

It's not cruel either, wasps are parasites.

I killed it.

Then I reincarnated it.

Quite simple really.

Or maybe I caught it in a matchbox, put it in the freezer for 5 minutes so it couldn't move because it was so cold, tied a string around it, (harder than it sounds) put it in the sun and the heat brought it to life again.

I've done this before, but doing it again with the paper airplane inclusion sounds like something I ought to try.

It's a fake.

A well placed camera angle, a piece of string, and a wasp, and the ILLUSION is created on film that the wasp is actually tied to the string.

If we had, say, a side view that showed us the string actually around the wasp, I'd believe it.

And what's with the wasp's huge moustache. Is it fwainch? I mean, French? Damn french, always leaving a piece of their asses in us.

But what you gotta admit IS cruel, is witnessing a mouse in one of my armed traps, with just it's right back leg caught, still living and trying to escape the confines of the trap spring. After a short moment to take in that I had to do something, I released it out of sight, so my dogs couldn't get it and also to give it time to tell it's mates NEVER to go in my shed.

Little b@stards.
