Juan Pablo Montoya has taken pole position for the German Grand Prix. It is his second career pole position and he just edged out Barrichello in the Renault to the top spot.
The Championship battle is really beginning to heat up and there is hardly anything between the two main challengers. Baumgartner just took 3rd place with Salo in 4th. The chasing pack had a indifferent showing with Villeneuve just outside the points in 9th, Button all the way down in 21st and Ralf Schumacher right behind the Championship rivals in 5th.
With both MG's, both Williams', both Minardi's and a Renault in the top 8, the Constructors Championship could be even closer at the end of the weekend. It's not good news for B.A.R as they slumped to 21st and 22nd on the grid. There is still no joy for Da Matta and Firman, both without points this season and work to do in the race.
So, the top 8 roundup sees Montoya in pole position followed by Barrichello in 2nd. Baumgartner has Championship rival Salo right alongside in 3rd and 4th respectively. Ralf Schumacher needs to get ahead of Baumgartner and Salo to stand a chance of the title and will start 5th. Verstappen continues a good recent run of qualifying with 6th. De La Rosa is starting to get the best out of his MG with 7th and Panis will be looking to get Toyota off the bottom of the Constructors Championship, starting 8th.

Do not despair those with drivers near the back! The previous 2 German Grand Prix have seen drivers from the back score points. Can we expect the same again? Will the Championship picture become clearer? Find out on Wednesday when we will see the result of the 2004 German Grand Prix!
For those interested in joining the competition, there are 3 drivers available:
Baumgartner
Frentzen
Bruni
If you wish to have a driver, follow his progress and enter predictions, simply let me know in this topic and it will be a first come, first serve basis. Thank you for supporting the SR F1 Championship!
Do Toyota proud

Well, so long as it rains or there's a massive accident eliminating a lot frontrunning of drivers, I'm happy. ;)
> 21st? Damn! How in the name of all things holy did that happen?
It could be the car as Pantano did just as bad. This race is just so open anyway and if it rains, you might as well have not bothered with qualifying. :D
