Also, did you really spend £300 to play your PS1 games, that you could already play one your PSX?
It seems a bit pointless to me, spending £300 for a machine, when you've already got one (PSX) to play the games on.
Your post was a complete waste of time and stupidly biased.
The ps2 graphics are amazing and they say that the game quality at the moment is half as much as what will come out.I certainly do not regret buying the ps2 because it is wicked.
I'd be surprised if you could name me more than 5 games, which are classics, that are only available for PS2.
Dont mention GT3, or MGS2. They are both a while off, by the time they come out the PS2 will have probably come down in price anyway.
Also, my question hasnt been answered:
Why did you pay £300 for a machine to play you PS1 games on? What was the point?
Classic games? I didn`t know there were any yet. It hasn`t been around long enough. perhaps he meant old PSone games. Maybe?
As for not mentioning GT3 and MGS2, I agree with you on the MGS2 point, but GT3 is only just over a month a way!!
Out of interest YH, what console are you a fan/owner of, or are you a PC guy? I don`t think I`ve ever asked before, (silly and rude of me, sorry). My name kind of gives away where my feelings go, but I can`t remember what you liked most.
I've got an N64 and a DC. I do play some games on my PC but not too many.
I think it's too early for people raving about the PS2. It hasnt been out long enough. Yes its a powerful console, but so was the N64, Atari Jaguar and the Amiga CD32 and look what happened to those!
At the moment, based on price and the quality of the games available, i would say that a DC is better than the PS2.
This will obviously change as time goes on, im not disputing that.
But there are two things thay really annoy me:
1). People who say, "The PS2 is the best! It's got a DVD player, i can play my old PS1 games AND its really powerful!"
2). People who say, "Wait til GT3 and MGS2 come out!
To which I would say:
1). Its got a DVD player, wow, im soooo impressed. I think i'll just wait til recordable DVD players come out thanks. Also, what happens if someone wants to watch a DVD and someone wants to play games? Me can see conflicts. I've already said my pices about being able to play PS1 games.
2). Right, ok, thats 2 games. Wow. Did you not realise that you need a plethora of quality titles to make a console work, not just 2?
Sorry if it sounds like im having a go here, but these sort of posts are doing my head in. I know i shouldnt read them, but i cant help myself :-)

Not bad, yourself?

DC is a good choice for sure. I have an N64. Perfect Dark and Episode 1 Racer I liked, but wasn`t too fond of some of the others :-)

Very true, though the PS2 has already got a user base of over 10 million, which I believe the consoles you mentioned lacked.

Probably right. PS2 is more than treble the price!

Right again. I certainly hope it really takes off. It`s already doing well though.

Fortunately for me, my PS2 is mine, so I manage to keep the choice open mostly, though I see your point. Your also right about the price of DVDs. The only time I buy them is if they are on offer (majorly on offer I mean).
2). Right, ok, thats 2 games. Wow. Did you not realise

There will be. I have a list that I can give. However, only about 4 have been released so far.

I know what you mean. I think that the initial post was a little too biased as you said. However, I think the PS2 does have a very good future, with many good titles to come.
