Say if I wanted to find a PC-emulated ROM of an old, old game called Operation Stealth that was originally on the Atari ST/Amiga. Would this be illegal to download and play? I'm pretty sure the company that made it, Delphine, no longer exists.

More importantly, what kind of place could I get it from?
That's my way of asking you to find it for me

Only reporting what I've heard. In that case, it's probably illegal. :D

I've downloaded the zip file, it's reported corrupted. Damn, quite fancied a look at the game. If I remember, it's almost impossible to complete.

Grab "Another World" if you can, brilliant game, and I remember being awestruck at the intro.

Hehehhe, damn, another world still has really cool into anim.

Awesome, cheers for that. Back to uni tomorrow and I'll be spending my entire weekend playing 15 year old Atari ST games. Tsk.

Actually, that downloads thing does work, you have to click off it and click again. Doesn't look that good, hm, let's look again.

The usual gubbins is that if you don't own the original, you have to delete the ROM after 24 hours.

As to where you get it? God knows, could be anywhere.

There's a pc version, http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?name=James+Bond%3A+The+Stealth+Affair , and you'll avoid the almost impossible to get right Amiga copy protection (the mirrored wheel)

http://www.atariarchive.com/ looks promising, except they're currently switching servers and downloads aren't back up yet.

As for the law... you must do what you feel is right.
