Another thing is the layout...all those links down the one side, surely, as they are catagorised, SR could split the catagories down the left and right...most people have larger monitors anyway...
I think we should be able to post in HTML, it would make reviews and posts so much better, it would add to the fun, and not too many people would try to upload on-line cover girls, and even if they did they could be banned.
I just thing that when sites like IGN and videogamereview are so welscming SR sould be the same. People are just blasted with adverts, cheap this cheap that. Its hardly the most warming welcome.
And maybe you could have one of those 'drpooydownthingys' that give you a choice, instead of listing every single sub site. You could have headdings for the main catagories but....all that text... And maybe you should incorporate more pictures. And a mascot?!
Anyway, just some opinions, don't bte my head off, I am just voicing my opinion and giving you the chance to do the same...I like this site as much as the next person, this is meerly a way to get your voice over to SR....not some customer revolt!

I have no idea how you can get lost!
Confused a little to start with maybe.
I like 'em, they're staying.

The policy is 600 x 800, until we change it.

It's not just the page loading times. We have our database and programming to consider, and the fact that it could look a complete mess. Then there is a little legal thing which would require us to check every picture.

I'll take a look at this.

Mostly - page loading time rules. Some opportunity for a face or two I agree.
I'd also 'borrow' an idea from the Channel 4 forums, where topics and the names on posts made by staff appear in a different colour appear in red (or another colour from 'the norm').
One thing I kind of like in other forums is the ability to add icons to indicate the tone of the message, or to put smileys on. Or even having a small pic for your user. OK, it doesn't add anything to the content, but it can look nice!
Anyway, they maybe could make it be sub sections which drop down when you put your mouse over them but then I don't think it would be sufficient. If you split the menu between the two sides it would probably be even more confusing since you'd have to check both.
They are already in subsections, so why not make the subsection titles the links, then that could load up a page in the main section of the html, or produce a drop down menu.
HTML in not just reviews but on the forums as well would be ok, but is it really neccesary?
If it was decided to be used, im sure something could be done to stop putting images in. It would be good if we could just add colour, italics, bold, underline etc. It would make the reviews easier to read, and spice the forums up a bit.
