Today I stopped using the composite cable that came with the PS2 and started to use my old PSone SCART lead. I was amazed at the difference in quality that the SCART lead gives you. Before, I just couldn't be bothered to change them over to watch a DVD and then change it back to play a game. But I don't watch very many DVD's so I'll keep the SCART cable in!
