It's becoming a bit of a 2 horse race at the top of the Drivers Championship after Salo and Baumgartner both scored points at Silverstone. The Constructors Championship is still pretty close and the Prediction Championship is still very much up for grabs.

Round 12 brings us to Germany and after Round 11 in Britain, half the field have picked up wins. With 70 possible points on offer, everyone is mathematically in with a chance.

http://www.freewebs.com/gpsr/srf1.htm for the current driver line up. Please check the site as not everyone I mention in the preview is racing this year!

Let's have a look at last years weekend to give you some clues for your predictions. In a rare showing in qualifying, McLaren locked up the entire front row with Coulthard narrowly edging out Raikkonen to pole position. Neither of the two Championship contenders raced last year, so let's focus on the chasing pack. Button was 7th on the grid, Villeneuve was 11th and Ralf Schumacher was 4th.

The race last year saw the two McLarens both crash out and De La Rosa come through from 6th to win, followed by Pizzonia (who started 12th) and Frentzen (who started 19th). Out of the chasing pack this year, Button finished 12th, Villeneuve finished 15th and Ralf Schumacher retired with suspension problems.

Here's some more information that might help in your predictions:

Lap Records:
Qualifying: 1m38.106s - Coulthard (McLaren) Set in 2003
Race: 1m38.888s - Raikkonen (McLaren) Set in 2003

Previous Winners:
2002 - Ralf Schumacher (Williams)
2003 - De La Rosa (Senna G.P) - Now MG F1

Top 3 Qualifying last year:
1st Coulthard (McLaren)
2nd Raikkonen (McLaren)
3rd Montoya (Williams)

Top 3 Race last year:
1st De La Rosa (Senna G.P) - Now MG F1
2nd Pizzonia (Jaguar)
3rd Frentzen (Sauber)

Top 3 Drivers after Round 12 last year:
1st Alonso 45pts (NOT RACING THIS YEAR!)
2nd Firman 44pts
3rd Villeneuve 39pts

Top 3 Constructors after Round 12 last year:
1st Renault 74pts
2nd B.A.R 72pts
3rd Jordan 68pts

Onto the predictions. Der Nazi, even though he got a bad result, increased his lead to 8 points. The pressure is still on with 70 points up for grabs.

Remember that some of the drivers racing last year aren't in this year's Championship!
