Anyone watch it last night?

I'm in North Carolina and it was aired on FoxSports.

Drogba looked okay, nowt special, did well to get his goal but it wasn't exactly a tough finish....

How did Kezman get sent off? He just ran over to Dacourt after his disgusting challenge on Robben, and Dacourt smacked him one. Stupid if he misses start of season for that....

Robben looked quality again, very excited about him for nexdt season. Duff looked lacking in match sharpness, but put in a few pieces of brilliance.

We completely outplayed Roma, and our passing looked great.

Top stuff, can't wait for the season now.

Well... Being a Chelsea fan, you should have no problem anyway, having just signed another load to go with the ten-or-so Ranieri (Abramovich) brought in last summer! ;D

It makes the manager earn the £2m he makes every year. He has to think quick. He has limitations. He's put to a tought test to make a quick and brave descision that'll work out for better than for worse.

Sven-Goran Eriksson, you see, would suffer like this - be thankful you have Mourinho!

It's all for the better of English football if young and inexperienced players have to be drafted in, anyway. We're seeing the future... Their confidence moves up towards the next level... And, even though they're not gonna get in the Chelski side anytime soon, they could catch the attention of lower league teams (or Middlesbrough...) looking to give them a chance.

No. They should be allowed to do whatever the heck they feel like doing, shouldn't they! Let's just let him break someone's leg and put that player out for half the season before it's even started - he'll feel sorry for himself when he's starting the next game, watching the extra thousands-of-pounds roll in for simply stepping onto the pitch [appearence bonus].

Players need rules. Players must have boundries. They may be adults now, but, while they can still act like kids, they need restrictions and and control - just like all of us, in whatever it is we do.

It's certainly more effective than a £5,000 fine! :I

But surely putting in this rule, means that managers will play youth and reserve team players in the games.

People go to the Exhibition tournaments, like the one in america, to see big name players, and this gives the games atmospheres. If they play reserve players no-one will go.

Pre-season is also to get your top players fit. If they don't play then they wont get fit, and the whole match/tournament will be pointless.

The ref's shouldn't be dishing out cards in the friendlies, and the ref for the Chelsea Roma game was actually ridiculous.

Stupid, yes. But also, very much deserved.

I'm very much in favour of the idea of suspending players from the start of the season for recieving a red, pre-season.

No matter how much money they're on, footballer's cannot be allowed to go around thinking they can do what they want and how they want to. They need discipline. The manager puts effort into trying to make something of each friendly the team plays - the players have got to take them seriously, also.

Introducing an immediate 'next-match' ban is also a very good idea, in my opinion. With the old one-game break beforehand, it was as if the team had plenty of time to prepare before the next game. This way, they've got to be ready, think fast and you really get to see what they're made of.
