I forgot how much Tonty used to post on here. Half the posts are by him or addressed to him (well obviously not half). Reading some peoples posts you can see how much they've changed in 3 years.
Go on Staffies tell me (and i am sure you have before) what has happened to tonty? it is actually scary how much he used to post. Just give us a clue were you buried him, so at least we can let his family know.
If this bout of extreme sad activity fails to curtail i may post some links to some amusing threads.
any way worth a read for its sheer randomness.
My first one mucked up for some reason I can't remember and my second one was breached, so I requested it got deleted so I could sign up again with the same name. I've been here around five years now I think. I'm sure it was 1999 when I first got on the net and posted only being allowed to go on for an hour a weekend as we were on "Offpeak penny a minute dialup"

I actually prefered them then. although they were a retarded mess of blue writing and nintendo ruled the forums, with more posts on goldeneye and perfect dark than all the sony topics added together. Fogmaster was easily one of the best members back then, there was a ledge called soup dragon and people like ant were cood users. There wasn't much spam, but that was probably because there was only about 20 posts a day! and they were basically a mini conversation between 3 or so of us. USer names weren't unique
If i hadn't joined so early i probably wouldn't have stayed, It was only the fact that it was small and the users were good that i posted much (and the fact that it was a good escape from my GCSEs).
is that your initial account edgy? (Or did you lose your account when they made all user names unique, like i did and many others [despite being the only ashley on here at the time but had to have multiple registrations due to the annoying registration system sign in thing.) as i seem to remember you being here even longer. I would rank you as a forum ever present! and a few others who still remain like ant and cookie (ant what happened to that Tomato guy you always used to hang round with).
GAD was a forbidden den for multiple victories, it was ridiculously long before some one won twice on the same account, and then they just gave in and people started winning loads.
My first GAD win was a really lame post, about PS owners being jealous of Goldeneye. Which was quite annoying as i had done some really good posts before that that hadn't won and one of my lamer ones won. It was literally 3 or 4 lines long. it was about the 15 gad ever i think, and a lot of the following gads were won by people who suspiciously only posted once then disappeared yet always claimed their games, who were blatantly multiple accounters. This was also previous to the time when people realised that by signing up with a female name you nigh on guaranteed winning gad with your first post.....
I posted for the best part of a year before i disappeared for about 4 or 5 months. When i returned the forums had changed into an early version of what we had today and these statuses had appeared. I to this day don't know how the original notables were decided I always assumed the staff had chosen a batch, though some of them seemed very random. I was shocked to see Foggy (are you still here? ive seen you under a few names since but not as much posting!) wasn't a notable or some of the other good posters and wasn't overly surprised not to be one myself due to my absence. By this point the forums were seeing the first modicums of spam.
However it wasn't that bad. Tonty became a heavy influence on the forum. [email protected] became snuggly and i assume webmaster@sr became Bob. If you click back to the beginning of the archives you can see some vintage regulars. Many of whom were lost at various points with the most heavy loss coming with tony's GADacide (3 gads to one that not many people can be bothered to post for) which saw a lot of good users disappear.
Since then the forums have plodded along much the same. Good users have arrived and a lot of spanners/spammers. However if you look in the right places their are still pockets of quality (sport, life et al ahem).
Anyway went on far longer than i meant too! reminiscing over.
EDIT:omg thats weird, didn't realise how long tjhis was!
That'll teach me to pretend to be an oldie.
No my stats are pretty much my stats.
Any other questions can be directed to Memo. :D

There's no need to get personal.
