Just watched starship troopers: heros of the federation. The straight to video sequel of the ultimate bug hunt. I expected the quality to be low but boy was I wrong! The bugs still looked as good as they did on the big screen. And it was surprisingly gory in places. Brains splattered, people got ripped in half and decapitated. Arms were ripped and blod soaked the floor. Sheeeeessshhh! Gore hounds go view, plus any fans of the original.

Upon refelection I think it is fair to say that starship troopers 2 still has ok bugs, but the story characters and situation sucks. Although the visual effects are admirable, considering the budget.

But is it just a gore fest, or has it got a story to it?

not really, its just surprising. Also I think its nice that directors on a budget can be so creative and come up with such convincing visual gore. About time it became slightly realistic and didnt hide the fact that if you get shot in the face with a shotgun brains will splatter everywhere. This director is clearly unflinching and at least portrays some truth as to what sustained injuries do. So there cookie :D
