This is the 100th topic in the N64 forum, so, in comemeration (sp?) of this wonderful time, everyone write down the most influencial games ever on the N64.

Obvious start - Zelda.

Zelda is off course a classic, and was the first game that really impressed me on the N64. Mario 64 was good, but didn't last very long. Goldeneye lasted a lot time and was very good, but didn't have whatever Zelda has. Zelda is probably a shining example of what computer games should be like. Nintendo obviously spent a lot of time creating the game, and it shows through.

Goldeneye inspired the idea of stealth as important. Before that no attention was paid to how loud the gun you use is. In goldeneye you can attract enemies from anywhere if the gun is loud. The emphasis is still on shooting, but it's nice to see something else. Also it introduced the sniper rifle to games, which is a very useful addition to the genre. The idea of missions was another thing that goldeneye started, making the game not just getting to the end of the level.

Mario 64 was quite a big step in terms of platform games, and although probably isn't quite a classic, it was still very good, and shows how you can create playform games in 3d. The analogue stick was important here, as the tomb raider control method is not quite as intuitive, or as easy to use in moving mario about.

Obvious start - Zelda.

Why?

Why not do it in the 101st topic?

Of course, Zelda is the art of the N64 yet. Though Zelda 1 is beginning to die out a bit now.But there is Zelda 2. But conkers Bad Fur Day has to be the rudest, crudest and best game on the N64 yet.Banjo-Tooie also rocks my world, but conkers Bad Fur Day betas them all. My worst N64 games are of course: 1.AERO GUAGE, why, because thats the bottom line.
2.LEGO RACERS, why, it is just too babyish.
3.ANY POKEMON GAME, why, because pokemon is too rubbish to be true.
4.TARZAN, why, because swinging from tree to tree seems a little bit sad to me.

But of course there are my favourite games which are:
1.EXITEBIKE 64, why, because making your own courses and driving around them, off-road style is wicked.
2.WWF NO MERCY, why, because wrestling is of course what is cookin' in my world.
3.CONKERS BAD FUR DAY, why, because all the gore and everything that is in the game makes this the best one yet.
4.BANJO-TOOIE, why, because this time there is new machines to be and new worlds and new bosses. You can even play as new characters like mumbo jumbo.
Thats what I think of my favourite and not so top games.
