Similar to the time they pre-booked a Cardiff hotel for the FA Cup Final before the competition had even started, then went out in an early round.

nah it was named late in the season when man Utd clearly weren't going to win, its like the champions league.
A champion doesn't actually have to be a winner. I keep explaining this!!!!
A champion. Ie the Kings champion or the Duke of Northumbria's champion jouster does not actually have to be the winner, they are sent as their representative and however are selected by their skill. Champion although recently has been coined to mean out and out winner, has just as much meaning as a highly skilled representative.
Oh and by the way you must loke the vodafone tournament if you selected a phone number as your user name! :-)

Vodafone are a MOBILE network. Mobile numbers are 6 digits, not 7.

To my knowledge, no team has ever been called FA Cup [I]Champions. :-)
