Everyone would have noticed by now the information messages being displayed on Freeview devices (STB/PVR/TV/Digital Recorders).

Wednesday September 30th (scheduled to complete by lunchtime) is the day of the change.

Some channels are moving multiplexes and will be unavailable until you retune:

Five , ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1

This might mean channel Five is available/improved for some people.

A new channel Quest is launching.

The changes are also part of the required preparation for Freeview HD.

Some old digital tuners will stop working(!) others will need an over the air update - view models affected.

I've been getting these pop-ups all week, I mean OK yes, I will need to update my Freeview Box, but is there a need to pester me about it everyday of the week. Even though they do this, I'm sure they are going to have tons of people confused!

Most shockingly "Some old digital tuners will stop working(!)"

What!? That's ridiculous! Some people needed a real push to get a Freeview Box, imagine how annoyed they will be when they are told they need to get a new one! xD

I've got sky so i don't see any of this. Questtv eh? Doubt i'll watch it tbh.

But with my baby sister screaming her head off all night (shes teething damn it) i think i'll need to find ways to sleep. Maybe watching this or porn will help.

Interesting to see that the Freeview website seems to be either unavailable or struggling at best today.

They should have gone to Freeola! ;¬)

All seems to have worked for me :¬)

FIVE which has always been a bit hit and miss for us looks much better - signal strength gone from 40's > 70's.

I see www.freeview.co.uk have replaced all their website with a simple info page as they coudn't cope with the traffic!
